- Robert Calvert reads "Fly On The Screen" from his poetry collection "Centigrade 232" (1977)

"232 is the temperature at which writing paper burns rather than book paper. It's meant to signify the writer destroying his rough drafts"
- Robert Calvert

"Appendix Appendix" (2007)
Ryan Gander & Dexter Sinister with Anthony Huberman recorded this spoken-word version of the pilot programme from Ryan Gander & Stuart Bailey's recently-published proposal for a TV series, "Appendix Appendix". The programme is a further attempt to chase a medium running away from itself.
Recorded on location in Geneva on 26 October 2007, the show was first broadcast on WFMU, 91.1FM on 11 November 2007.

- Richard Brautigan's "Love Poem" from "Listening To Richard Brautigan" (1973)
A one-line work read, in different intonations, 18 consecutive times by 18 different readers, including Michael McClure, avant-garde filmmaker Bruce Conner, photographer Imogen Cunningham, San Francisco Chronicle newspaper columnist Herb Caen, Brautigan's girlfriend Valerie Estes, and Brautigan's daughter Ianthe Brautigan. "The people were chosen by Richard, they were friends of his," explains Barry Miles, publisher of International Times, who instigated a series of spoken word albums to be released on The Beatles' short-lived experimental subsidiary label of Apple Records, Zapple (Allen Klein folded the label even before the release of the Brautigan record, which would only be released in one EMI Harvest label US pressing years after recording). "I think Valerie Estes had a hand in choosing some people. I'm pretty sure she came up with Don Allen [a renowned literary editor who edited Brautigan's first four books], for instance. The poem was so short that I originally asked him to read it twice. Where the idea of using different people came from, I don't remember."

- Vito Acconci's "The Bristol Project" (2001)
Acconci's spoken depiction of a futuristic landscape that contains many of his architectural projects.

- "Uptown Haters Skit", excerpt from Sean Paul's "Dutty Rock" album (2003)
